Mike Peacock of Mountain Coal Company (MCC) accompanied the inspection. The weather was <br />overcast and cold, with a little snow on the ground. The mine was active. <br /> <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS – Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> The records were available in the mine office. Details are given at the end of this report. <br /> <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE: <br /> The longwall was in panel E6, however the precise location was not noted. The mine continues to run a <br />single production shift, 5 days a week. The shift has been extended to 9 hours. At the time of the inspection the <br />wash plant was not running, and was not expected to in the near future. <br />MCC was in the process of hiring or re-hiring 22 production/maintenance staff <br />The following permitting actions are in progress: <br /> MR-419 was approved and issued on November 10, 2016. <br /> MR-420 was approved and issued on November 17, 2016. <br /> The Division proposed decisions to approve SL-09 and TR-139 on December 1, 2016. <br /> SL-10 is complete. MCC has completed all actions necessary for the approval of the bond release <br />application. The Division expects to propose a decision soon. <br /> RN-07 was found complete on February 1, 2016. The initial adequacy review was sent to MCC on May 3. <br />A response was received by the Division on May 24. The proposed decision due date has been extended to <br />February 24, 2017. <br /> TR-140 was found complete by the Division on October 17, 2016. The proposed decision due date has <br />been extended to May 5, 2017. <br /> <br />
