Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP), September 2012
GCC Energy – King Coal & King II Mines
4

A temporary soil stockpile is located in the northeast corner of the facility, within Area D.
The northwest section of the property contains the shop area, which is used for vehicle
maintenance, storage, and a wash bay for vehicles. The product transfer building and
concrete slab, which houses vehicle fuels and lubricants, is located near the
southwestern arm of Area D. The mine portal is also located within Area D.

Clearwater Ditches
Two clearwater drainage ditches located at the east and west perimeters of the facility
divert uncontaminated stormwater around the facility’s coal processing and industrial
areas. The clearwater ditches do not drain into the facility’s sedimentation pond, but
join at a point south of the pond. From there, the uncontaminated stormwater is
discharged into Hay Gulch.
