Ground Water <br /> Ground water is expected to be encountered roughly 25 feet below the surface once mining of the <br /> deposit below the dredge piles is conducted. This is the alluvial river aquifer of the Platte River. <br /> Mining will be stopped before the static water table. If an area is over excavated it will be promptly <br /> filled to cover the exposed ground water. <br /> 3,1 Existing <br /> Nearby wells that have been identified are located on Map C-1, as best as possible using mapping <br /> data from the Colorado Division of Water Resources. Two wells are located within 600 feet of the <br /> mining area: one west of the northwest end of the mining area, owned by Mari Jo Burke(Permit <br /> #28676) and one north of the mining area, the Alpine Rock Well(Permit#2307157).
