RECLAMATION PLAN
TIMETABLE
The Little Johnson area should not be allowed to sit unreclaimed for very long.
Reclamation should be done immediately after the completion of mining or as close to the time
of seeding as possible. Delays in reclamation will allow abundant weed growth to become
established and that will make the revegetation program more difficult and less successful.
In the event the reservoir will be constructed either soon after compietion of mining or at
A - . 0 afterwards, .. . . te pernfit change may be submitted that will address the
needs at that time. fn the event there is a considerable delay in the implementation of reclama
bef6re the reservoir is built, appropriate changes in the pernfit or pernfittee will be sought to
acconmiodate the desires and needs of the landowner. Examining all the variotts facets and
possible ffiture events, it is clear that one single, primary factor controlLs essentinfly alf decisions
regarding the use of this fand. if an action has an adverse impact on the remediation program th
the action either cantmot occur or tfie action must be aitered so as to not adversely impact the
remeditation program. In other words, the remeditation pro- 'nfly the contruffing
factor:
In the event the remediation program was concluded in the near future, then that
controlling factor would be replaced by a new controlling factor. That new factor would currently
be the Fountain Mutual Ditch. So long as the ditch is in its current location a decision to remove
the sand under the ditch corridor cannot be made, even if the reservoir is not created. THIS WILL
BE FURTHER DISCUSSED IN THE SECTION ADDRESSING THE BLENDING OF THIS
SITE WITH THE REST OF THE PIT. Therefbre, at the end of the inining of the Little johnson
checkpoint.area, a demsion will be made as to the appropriate finai action to be taken. At that point in time it
may be necessary to implement additional pennit chmiges or simply proceed with the existing
plan. Thus, the conclusion of the mining is a key
euntinental Materials (the pennittee)wif! contact the Division at that point to infbrm the
Division of the statm and determine the appropriate ffiture action. The determination of the
ffiture action will also involve the landowner, Security Water District.
TOPOGRAPHIC CROSS SECTION
Please refer to the cross-section at the end of Exhibit D -Mining Plan. This cross-section
shows the approximate configuration of the final topography, assuming the mining proceeds to
the maximum extent in an eastward direction. THIS CROSS SECTION IS NOW TITLED "LJ-
1"AND IS INCLUDED WITH THE OTHER CROSS SECTIONS THAT ACCOMPANY THE
OVERALL PLAN.
Daniels Sand Pit Amendment (2008) Exhibit E Page 10 of 22
