RECLAMATION PLAN
East of2kcademy Boulevard LITTLE JOHNSON AREA
For the most part, the existing p1mi remains in effect fbr the portion of the operatiot
located east ofikcademy. As noted previoubl', . 5r adjustments have been made in some
of the reclaniation contours in specific areas, but throughout most of the ;bite the existing plan
fully applies. Most of the fbilowing discussion p.Irtains to the Little johnson area with some
discussion as to how this area wfl!inerge with the existing pfm-. THE FOLLOWING
SECTIONS PERTAIN ONLY TO THE LITTLE JOHNSON RESERVOIR AREA OF THE
PERMIT. FOR ALL OTHER AREAS OF THE PERMIT PLEASE REFER TO THE
SIMILARLY TITLED SECTIONS ELSEWHERE IN THIS EXHIBIT. FOLLOWING THIS
PLAN FOR THE LITTLE JOHNSON RESERVOIR RECLAMATION IS A SEPARATE
SECTION THAT DISCUSSES BLENDING THE EDGES OF THIS PLAN WITH THE
OVERALL PLAN.
GRADING: The grading plan for the Little Johnson area is different from the rest of the
operation. Whereas 3:1 slopes are the maximum steepness of slope allowable elsewhere, the
Little Johnson area will have a slope similar to that shown on the Reclamation Plan maps
(LITTLE JOHNSON Exhibits F-1 and F-2). These slopes will vary from abouton the
western half to about 40:1 on the eastern half of the mining area. If the mining does not, in fact,
extend as far east as shown on the map then the slopes will be somewhat steeper, but should not
ever be steeper than about 12:1.
The final slopes will be crea ed in the process of mining. For details on the mining
process please refer to LITTLE JOHNSON PORTION OF Exhibit D -Mining Plan. Thus,no
more than just some minor touch-up will be needed before the growth medium is replaced.
However, the slopes along the south side of the Little Johnson mining area will have a
maximum gradient of 3:1. The temporary slope aiong the north edge of the bittle Joinis . . -
area will also have a maximum 3 e f slope. But, as noted on ffiC Reclamation Plan Map (Exffibit -
2) this northem section is potentially a temporary treatment, whereas the south side of the mining
area is most likely permanent. THE TEMPORARY SLOPE REFERRED TO IN THE
ORIGINAL APPROVED PLAN FOR THE LITTLE JOHNSON AREA NO LONGER
APPLIES. TOPOGRAPHY CREATED HERE, AS SHOWN ON THE FINAL TOPOGRAPHY
MAPS (PRIMARILY EXHIBIT F-1), WILL BE APPLIED. THIS WILL BE ADDRESSED
FURTHER IN THE SECTION DISCUSSING THE BLENDING OF THE LITTLE JOHNSON
AREA WITH THE REST OF THE FINAL TOPOGRAPHY IN THE PIT.
Daniels Sand Pit Amendment (2008) Exhibit E Page 5 of 22
