and modernized. New topsoiling specifications have been defined and a new projection of the <br /> final vegetation composition on the floor of the pit is provided. The final land use has been <br /> more specifically defined as wildlife habitat/green space. Although there is still some <br /> uncertainty as to the final land use, at this time the wildlife habitat/green space land use <br /> appears to be the most likely. <br /> 7. New final topographic configuration in the Little Johnson Reservoir is provided along with a <br /> change in the final use of this land. Previously, it was thought a new, small reservoir would <br /> be built in the Little Johnson area after mining. That has now been dropped leaving the final <br /> topography a very gentle west facing slope that leads down to the bottom of the pit from the <br /> back of the Little Johnson mining area. <br /> 8. Slopes around the north and northeast side of the pit east of Academy will have final slopes <br /> of 4:1 above the Fountain Mutual Ditch and 3.5:1 to 4:1 below the ditch corridor. These will <br /> be constructed in native material. Previously, the final slopes were to be 3:1. This will <br /> improve revegetation potential, increase stability, reduce erosion potential, and provide a <br /> more attractive blending with the ditch corridor and the new highway to the north. <br /> 9. The amount of final slope around the pit that is created by backfilling has been greatly <br /> reduced and the method for constructing the remaining small amount of backfilled slope has <br /> been changed. <br /> General Overview of Daniels Sand Pit#2 Amendment(2008) Page 2 of 2 <br />
