The site was closed in 1995, and was later placed under Temporary Cessation
following CDRMS approval of TRO1-32 in 2001. The site was subsequently removed from Temporary
Cessation during the second quarter of 2006, because a bond release application was also being contemplated
for the Utah Tract and Williams Fork Strip Pit portions of the mine property.
In response to Rule 4.30 requirements, TC provides the following:
a) The exact number of surface acres which have been affected is 2,296. The attached Map shows a plan
view of the mine workings.
b) Presently, TC anticipates some reclamation of old belt lines and possibly other structures during
Temporary Cessation. The extent and timing of future reclamation has been yet been determined,
however CDRMS will be notified of the extent and timing prior to any work being done. A copy of the
2012 annual reclamation report for the site is attached.
c) As with item b, CDRMS will be notified in advance of any proposed back filling, re -vegetation,
environmental monitoring, underground opening closures, and water treatment activities.
d) As indicated in the introductory paragraph, resumption of operation is unlikely to occur anytime in the
near future based upon current market conditions and competition from local existing coal mines.
TC has attached Appendix D. TC is proposing to use the previous Temporary Cessation Plan from 2001 which
was developed by CDRMS (Tom Kaldenback)
