VII. Disposal of Excess Spoil
No changes to the disposal of excess spoil were proposed in the PR -1 application.
VIII. Coal Mine Waste Banks
No Coal Mine Waste Banks have been proposed for the New Horizon North Mine.
IX. Coal Mine Waste
No coal mine waste will be generated at the New Horizon North Mine.
X. Backfilling and Grading
The Division proposes to approve the backfilling and grading plan submitted in the PR-
T application. The area most notably changed is the Garvey property. The Garvey
property generally slopes from the NE to the SW. The previously approved topography
had steeper slopes on the southern part of the property (Rice Tract) which reflected the
original contours before mining began at the NHN Mine.
The changes to the backfilling and grading plan slightly change the post mining
topography to make the southern slopes less steep. This change accommodates the
changes in reclaimed topsoil configuration and in irrigation designs.
XL Revegetation
The Division proposes to approved the center pivot and side -roll irrigation systems as
outlined in Appendix 2.05.4(2)(e)-1 and Map 2.05.4(2)(e)-1 of the PR -1 application.
The new irrigation designs are consistent with the reclaimed topsoil configuration which
will maximize the use of irrigation water. The irrigation system will be used to support
the post mining land uses of intensively managed irrigated pasture and irrigated pasture.
XII. Post -mining Land Use
No changes to the post -mining land use are proposed in the PR -1 application. PR -1 is,
however, proposing changes to the locations of the intensively managed irrigated
pasture, irrigated pasture and dryland pasture parcels. These changes accommodate the
changes in reclaimed topsoil configuration and in irrigation designs.
XIII. Protection of Fish, Wildlife and Related Environmental Values
No changes to the protection of fish, wildlife and related environmental values are
proposed in the PR -1 application.
