October 27, 2016 C-1981-018/Deserado Mine CCW <br />PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES —Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br />Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br />Two refuse piles are actively being used at the Deserado Mine. The RP -2/3/4 and 5a Piles. During the <br />inspection, refuse was being placed on RP -2/3/4. The refuse on RP -5a had been spread out. The out slopes of the <br />piles are in good condition with small rills occurring. The refuse piles are stable and in good repair. <br />ROADS —Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) <br />Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) <br />Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) <br />Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />The Haul Road was in good condition. There were no areas with ruts or any low spots that had ponded. <br />Access roads that were driven on during the inspection were in good condition. There were small ruts in some <br />locations; however, these ruts were large enough to require maintenance. <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br />SAES inspected include: <br />- Transfer Stations 1 and 2 <br />- The Slot Storage <br />- Haul Road Blisters 4 and 5 <br />- Return shaft 11L (RS -11L) <br />The SAES were in good condition at the time of the inspection. The berms at the sites were intact and were <br />preventing off-site impacts. The SAEs did not have any areas where water has ponded.
