Some inlet grates needed cleaning. The
coal pile by Stack Tube #2 was not spilling onto the undisturbed area (a problem in past years).

SIGNS AND MARKERS – Rule 4.02:
Near the Burnwell tipples at King I, a permit boundary marker was observed.

Near the King II facilities (north end was observed during this inspection), permit boundary markers need to be
changed to disturbance limit markers.

TOPSOIL – Rule 4.06
Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4:
At King I, both Plant Growth Medium Storage Areas require additional maintenance to protect the resource. At the
storage area above the Refuse Pile, a small area of the ring ditch still needs to be repaired. At the area above the
fan bench, a ring ditch has recently been constructed. However, additional work is needed on the south side of this
feature; a sediment sump or other practice should be used to keep the majority of the soil on the pile.

No problems were seen with the Topsoil Stockpiles (TSS) at King II except the presence of some weeds at the
TSS by the pond.

ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS/COMPLIANCE

No enforcement actions were initiated as a result of this inspection, nor are any pending.
