r
7. Our property values will drop dramatically.
8. We all bought out in the country, on this mesa for a specific reason.... peace and
quiet,to be away from noise and traffic.
9. Many years ago our house alone has been broken into 3 times. Our neighbors houses
as well due to having "public access"to our properties. We all have spent a lot of
money building fences and security gates along 36th Lane to keep "public access" out
and I am proud to say that this has worked and no robberies have taken place in years.
If this road is allowed, our properties will be "exposed"to all traffic and this will
invite the public to have access to our properties and we will not be able to keep track
of who is around our properties at all times. Future break-ins, robberies, trespassing
and damage could happen at any time. We will feel unsafe and frightened. We will
have to live in fear of the unknown. This is not what we purchased our lands for.
These are just several reasons why this road should not be allowed. They could not get it
passed through the county level so now they are trying to go through the state level. They
must think the state is stupid and not informed of all that is at stake. Business Highway 50
has worked in the past and can continue. As it is, 36th Lane is torn up and needs repair
monthly due to their daily trucks. We are at risk everyday with the torn up "paved road" and
now they want a dirt road to be used and a higher risk to us all.
The attached letter, which came to my attention yesterday, states on page 2 bullet 30 that
"please provide proof of mailing or serving a copy of the public newspaper notice,to all
owners of record of the surface and mineral rights of the affected land; and the owners of
record of all land surface within 200 feet of the boundary of the affected lands, as required by
Rule 1.6.2(1)(e)." We never received such notice, which seems to me as illegal and under
handed on their end. They know that most of the people living on the mesa are against this
road and they are going behind our backs to try and get the state to approve this road. People
who do not live on the mesa do not care of the hardships this will cause the people who
actually live out there. They do not care what we think or how it will affect our daily lives.
I am writing to you to stop this proposed road along with my neighbors. Please hear what
we are saying and please do not let this pass. We will be awaiting a response to this letter
and what our rights are on this proposal.
Sincerely,
Wendy A, Kunz
2800 36th Lane
Pueblo, CO 81006
719-225-5688 Home
303-941-0336 Cell
