8.1.4 Surface Runoff Routing
The sediment ditches and some clear water ditches will remain in place upon completion of
reclamation to direct surface runoff. The sediment ditch downslope from the buttress will be removed
after final reclamation and all surface runoff from the reclaimed RPEE and surrounding tributary area
will be directed to pre -development drainage. Clear water diversion channels will also be reclaimed
and restored to pre -development drainage patterns.
8.2 Documentation of Final Reclamation
After final reclamation is complete, a technical revision will be submitted to demonstrate routing of
surface runoff from the RPEE to a sediment control pond is no longer needed to comply with water
quality regulations. Sediment ditches will be left in place at the west limits of the RPEE to safely
convey water from the surface of the reclaimed waste rock pile to a point in the vicinity of the toe of
the rock buttress, where the sediment and clear water ditches will be reconfigured after reclamation
to merge into one channel to the bottom of No Name Gulch and to the culvert under Highway 133.
38
P:\Mpls\06 CO\26\06261003 MCC Refuse Pile Site Review & Permit\WorkFiles\Permit Application\2014 Revision\Exhibit 82 2014-05-
29.docx
