8.0 Reclamation Plan
The RPEE waste rock pile will be progressively reclaimed during operations. The RPEE will be
constructed to blend with and complement the surrounding landscape and avoid, minimize, and/or
mitigate, potential environmental impacts. Final reclamation of the RPEE will include vegetative soil
distribution, revegetation, and road removal.
8.1 Reclamation Plan Components
The following tasks will be undertaken as parts of site reclamation.
8.1.1 Vegetative Soil Redistribution
Vegetative soil will be removed and stored as indicated in Sections 4.1 and 7.4. Redistribution of
vegetative soil will occur progressively as the lower and successive slopes and benches of the RPEE
are built to final grade and are ready to be reclaimed. The outside surface of the waste rock pile will
be roughened if necessary and the vegetative soil spread to an average depth of 18 inches to 24
inches over the surface.
8.1.2 Revegetation
After vegetative soil has been spread over the constructed RPEE area slopes and benches to be
reclaimed, the area will be seeded with MCC's permanent seed mixture by broadcasting or
hydroseeding. Seeding will occur the first normal period favorable for planting after each segment of
the RPEE has been built to final grade and covered with soils. Straw mulch and/or other erosion
control measures may be added to enhance the establishment of vegetation. Noxious weeds will be
controlled in accordance with the approved plan in MCC's permit.
8.1.3 Road Removal
After the RPEE waste rock pile has been fully completed and reclaimed the haul roads and roadways
that are no longer needed to access monitoring instruments or for other maintenance needs will be
closed to vehicular traffic, culverts will be removed, and final reclamation will be completed. The
roads will be covered with vegetative soil and then seeded with MCC's permanent seed mix.
37
PAMpls\06 CO\26\06261003 MCC Refuse Pile Site Review & Permit\WorkFiles\Permit Application\2014 Revision\Exhibit 82 2014-05-
29.docx
