Piping shall be placed to the lines and elevations shown on the DRAWINGS, with no sags <br />or humps, as approved by MANAGER and CERTIFYING ENGINEER. <br />3.2. Pipe Connections <br />A. All connections for non‐perforated pipe shall be watertight under maximum <br />anticipated pressure head. <br />B. The ends of all pipe shall be capped with a manufactured pipe cap. <br />C. HDPE pipe will be butt‐heat‐fusion welded in accordance with the MANUFACTURER's <br />guidelines. <br />D. CPe pipe joints shall conform to MANUFACTURER's recommendations. <br />3.3. Bedding and Backfill <br />A. CONTRACTOR shall place and compact Leak Detection Fill in accordance with Item <br />3.06.E of Section 02200.0. <br />B. CONTRACTOR shall bed and backfill Leak Detection piping with Leak Detection Fill. <br />C. Low Volume and High Volume Solution Collection pipe shall be placed on top of the <br />geosynthetics, as shown on the DRAWINGS. <br />D. Placement of Low Volume and High Volume Solution Collection and High Volume <br />Solution Collection pipes shall be coordinated with other operations such as Low <br />Volume Solution Collection Fill, Bedding Fill, Soil Liner, and Drain Cover fill placement. <br />Equipment access directly on geosynthetics is expressly prohibited. Any damage to the <br />geosynthetics caused by CONTRACTOR during pipe placement shall be repaired at the <br />expense of CONTRACTOR. <br />E. A minimum of 5 feet of Low Volume Solution Collection Fill and Drain Cover Fill shall be <br />placed over the top of the pipe before crossing with rubber‐tired construction <br />equipment. If pipe becomes crushed during or after installation by CONTRACTOR's <br />equipment or methods of construction, the pipe shall be replaced by CONTRACTOR, at <br />no additional cost to CC&V. The CONTRACTOR will be required to demonstrate to <br />MANAGER that the equipment and procedures used are not detrimental to the piping, <br />at no additional cost to CC&V. <br />F. CONTRACTOR shall hold pipes in place with sand bags, or other methods approved by <br />MANAGER, until the Low Volume Solution Collection Fill and Drain Cover Fill has been <br />placed. Directly before placement of the Low Volume Solution Collection Fill and Drain <br />Cover Fill, the sand bags will be removed. <br />G. Secondary or tertiary High Volume Solution Collection pipes will be attached to the <br />primary pipes with plastic ties or other method approved by MANAGER and <br />CERTIFYING ENGINEER.
