Frank Ferris of Elk Ridge Mining and Reclamation was present for <br />the entire inspection. The weather was sunny and cool. The temperature was approximately 60F and the ground <br />conditions were dry. <br />EXPLOSIVES – Rule 4.08 <br />Distance Prohibitions 4.08.4; Warnings 4.08.4; Control of Adverse Effects 4.08.4: <br /> A parting shot took place on the east end of the pit. The audible warning and all clear signals were heard. <br />The mine entrances and pit entrances were blocked off for the shot. All non-essential personnel were out of the <br />pit. This was the final shot for the minesite. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> Pond 001 contained water but was not discharging. The inlets for the east (photo 1) and west (photo 2) <br />ditches were in good condition. The emergency spillway was free and clear of obstructions. The west ditch geo- <br />web and rock were in good condition. The east ditch was in good condition with one exception. A large gully had <br />formed on the inside bank of the ditch in the area of the storage containers (photo 3). The gulley was repaired <br />during the inspection (photo 4). All the other water inlets from the facilities area to the east ditch were in good <br />condition. <br /> <br />Pond 002 contained a small amount of water and was not discharging. The inlets for the south and north (photo 5) <br />ditches were in good condition. The emergency spillway was free and clear of obstructions. <br /> <br />Culverts C-1 and C-13 were free and clear of obstructions. <br />
