October 13, 2016 C-2009-087/Peabody Sage Creek Mine JLE <br /> <br /> <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 2 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2 <br /> <br /> Page 4 of 9 <br /> <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />The PECOCO Pond, Upper Sump, Lower Sump, Pond 003 and Pond 004 were observed. These ponds were <br />discharging. The pond embankments were vegetated and stable. The primary and emergency spillways (as <br />applicable) were clear and functional. <br /> <br />The repairs made to the Pond 004 embankment appear to be holding. <br /> <br />Figure 3. Pond 004 embankment. <br /> <br />Pond 002 is an incised pond and was holding water and discharging. <br /> <br />The SII-PM11, SII -PM6, SII -PM20 and Lower PM-6 drainages were observed. These reclaimed drainages are <br />stable. The rip-rap in place appears to be holding. <br /> <br />Around the main facilities, the CH-2 channel and the ditches surrounding the access/haul roads were observed. <br />These ditches were stable and functional. The old shop diversion ditch was clear and functional. <br /> <br />Spoil Springs at outfalls 005 and 006 were discharging. <br /> <br />The truck wash pond was dry. <br /> <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLIANCE:
