There was some oxidized iron around the inlet to the pond. There is no noticeable oxidized iron at the
outlet of the Long Pond. The water from the Long Pond discharges through a pipe to the first treatment pond, TR-
1.

Water was discharging from the Long Pond through the pipe to TR-1 during the inspection. There was no
oxidized iron noticeable at the TR-1 inlet. The embankments were stable with no indications of erosion. Water
was discharging from TR-1 to TR-2 through the open spillway. The spillway was in good condition and
functioning as designed.

TR-2 was at full capacity at the time of the inspection and discharging to the P9 Pond. The embankments of TR-2
are well vegetated and stable. There were no indications of erosion. The water in TR-2 had no evidence of
precipitated iron in the pond.

Pond P9 was at full capacity during the inspection (Photo 2). The embankments are stable and there were no
indications of erosion. The water discharged from P9 flows through an open ditch to the Refuse Pond. The ditch
was in good condition and there were no areas identified where water would seep out.

The Refuse Pond is the last pond in the treatment system. Both the P9 Pond and the Refuse Pond are used for
water storage. There was water impounded in the Refuse pond at the time of the inspection (Photo 3). The Refuse
Pond is designed not to discharge. There was no discharge from the pond.

Please see the Reclamation Success section of this report for more details on the water treatment system.

ROADS – Rule 4.03
Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3)
Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4)
Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6)
Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7):
There is one remaining road at the mine site which has been approved to remain permanent to support the
post mining land use.
