6. Drawing C-4
• This drawing intended to show proposed facilities shows the historic Chicago Tunnel
underground workings but does not include the proposed underground workings shown
in Drawings C-5a and C-5b. Please show these proposed workings for overall site
reference and indicate where shafts daylight.
RESPONSE. Drawing C-4 has been updated to show the proposed underground
workings (See Attachment 1).
7. Drawing C4a
• This drawing intended to show changes in disturbance categories but does not indicate a
change in disturbance where the proposed underground workings shafts (as shown in
Drawings C-5a and C-5b)daylight. Please indicate a change in disturbance category
where these shafts daylight.
RESPONSE. There are no plans to construct shafts as part of the underground
workings at the Chicago Tunnel. The vertical structures shown on Drawings C-5a and
C-5b are vent raises to provide ventilation to underground operations. These
structures daylight within a permitted disturbance area already designated as a Mine
Area. Drawing C-4a has been updated to extend the underground mining disturbance
area into the existing surface mine area to include the vent raises (See Attachment 1).
8. Drawing C 5a
• The legend shows a line color for 2016, 2017 and 2018, but there are no "2020
Sectional View"on the drawing. Please provide an explanation.
RESPONSE: It is not clear what the Division is asking for in its comment. Please refer
to Drawing C-5b, which shows plan views and sectional views for the years 2019 and
2020.
• There is a discrepancy between the title block scale(1"=2000')and the scale bar(1
inch=200 ft). Please provide a corrected drawing.
RESPONSE: Corrected drawing is included in the Attachment 1.
• Sectional views for 2016, 2017 and 2018 show purple and orange lines that are near
vertical shafts. Please show on the plan views where these shafts daylight.
RESPONSE. Drawings C-5a and C-5b have been updated to show where proposed
vent raises daylight on the surface. See Attachment 1.
9. Drawing C-5b
• There is a discrepancy between the title block scale (1" =2000') and the scale bar(1
inch=200 ft). Please provide a corrected drawing.
