(SCC) to submit a technical revision to the <br />Roadside Mine permit requesting approval of its hydrologic communication repair plan, the reclamation <br />plan, and the cost estimate for the repair plan and the reclamation plan. On behalf of SCC enclosed is <br />the required technical revision. <br />The following information is provided to assistthe reader in finding baseline information for the area to <br />be repaired. <br />Cultural Resources —Rule 2.04.4 <br />The area included in the hydrologic repair is located in Section 34, T10S, R98 above and upgradient of <br />the backfilled portal of the Roadside South Mine. This area was included in a check of the National <br />Register for Cultural and Historic Sites. As stated in permit page 5-2, there are no cultural or historic <br />sites in the southern Roadside South permit area or adjacent area presently listed in the National <br />Register of Historic Places. The file search performed by the Colorado Historic Society is documented in <br />Appendix 5-3. Additionally this area was previously disturbed by attempts to use the land for <br />agricultural purposes. Typically, disturbed areas are not surveyed for cultural resources. <br />Soils — Rule 2.04.9 <br />The Roadside Soils Map, Exhibit 23, identifies this area as "Barx-Clapper Complex" soils (#4 on map). <br />Appendix 9-6 includes soils description, properties, production and suitability for various soils uses. <br />These soils are identified to have moderate infiltration and water transmission with no probability of <br />flooding. <br />
