PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES – Rule 4.10 and 4.11
Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement:
As per approved by the Division, Munger Canyon Mine has disturbance within 100 feet of the Munger Creek. The
mine is approved to have constructed the Waste Rock Disposal Area within the 100 foot setback. The Waste Rock
Disposal Area is constructed with collection ditches that did report to a sediment pond before the pond was
reclaimed in 2014. With Technical Revision No. 25, CAM Mining, LLC provided the Division a demonstration to
show that run off from the Waste Rock Disposal Area no longer needed to be treated by the sediment pond. The
collection ditches remain in place and now direct surface runoff to the adjacent drainage before entering Munger
Creek. A measurement was taken from the north east corner of the pile to the center of Munger Creek. The
distance was measured at approximately 82 feet.

SIGNS AND MARKERS – Rule 4.02:
Four stream buffer signs were located north of the waste rock pile along the length of the buffer zone.

ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS/COMPLIANCE

No enforcement actions were initiated as a result of this inspection, nor are any pending.
