replacement well FCM#2 was also completed during 1995. Disturbance at this site comprises
less than 0.2 acres. No reclamation work was completed during 1995 at this site due to adverse
weather conditions prevalent at the completion of drilling activities.
Disturbance associated with development of the 7 North escape shaft totals approximately 2.5
acres. Approximately 1.9 acres of disturbance is associated with the pad itself with the
remaining acreage covering the newly constructed road to the site. The area has been stabilized
with outslopes and the topsoil stockpile seeded with the approved pastureland seed mix.
Two additional outlying facility projects were undertaken in 1995. The projects were initiated
under an approved NOI. The eastern mining district ventilation shaft site was constructed and
covers approximately 2.8 acres. Topsoil piles and disturbed outslopes were seeded with the
approved pastureland seed mix. The new eastern mining district dewatering borehole site was
also developed under the NOI and comprises approximately 3.5 acres of disturbance with 1.9
acres located at the pad site and the remaining 1.6 acres associated with road constructed to the
site. Topsoil piles and disturbed slopes associated with this work were also seeded with the
approved pastureland seed mix.
Lastly, an additional 27.3 acres of disturbance associated with construction of the trench/berm
rockfall mitigation project was constructed in 1995. The disturbed areas were hydroseeded and
hydromulched due to the steep slopes involved at the construction site and due to safety concerns
which precluded access to the structure interiors. The hydroseeding project was suspended
before completion due to adverse weather conditions and approximately 5 acres of the
easternmost trench/berm structure has yet to be seeded. Seeding operations will be completed at
the first available opportunity in 1996. The trench/berm structures were seeded with the
approved rangeland seed mix per the reclamation plan developed for the site. The outslopes
along the south side of relocated County Road 27 were also seeded and cimprise approximately 3
additional acres of disturbance.
Several areas were disturbed prior to 1995 and remain Twentymile Coal Company's
responsibility. These locations are included in Table 1 and shown on the 1995 Annual
Reclamation Report maps. These locations include the Sandstone Substation, Fish Creek Tipple,
Fish Creek Borehole, surface facilities, Southwest Borehole, and the rock dust tank disturbance
areas.
