Spring 2016 Subsidence and Geologic Field Observations
South of Divide and Dry Fork Mininq Areas
Figure 5. Eastward view of slump adjacent to
the road east of the MVB E6-10 pad. Longwall
mining had not occurred beneath this area at
the time of our spring 2016 field visit.
,r
4.
Figure 6. Westward view of the same slump
feature shown in Figure 5 located
approximately 500 feet east of the MVB E6-10
pad.
A previously reported subsidence crack on the MVB E5-8 pad was no longer evident during our
spring 2016 field visit, while the shallow slope failure on the cut slope above the pad remains
evident, but is weathering.
Some minor evidence of subsidence cracking was observed on the MVB E6-7 pad as longwall
mining had recently occurred beneath this area. Attempts to obtain photographic evidence of these
minor features did not adequately reflect the observations, so were not included in this report. All
cracking was restricted to the pad area.
831-032.798 Wright Water Engineers, Inc. Page 16
August 2016
