Basil Bear of Bowie Resources, LLC accompanied the inspection. <br />The weather was clear with the ground wet at the time of the inspection. No mine related activities were on-going <br />during the inspection. The site remains idle with no reclamation activities being conducted. The Bowie No. 1 <br />Loadout continues to serve as a storage/lay-down area used by Bowie Resources, LLC for the Bowie No. 2 Mine. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS – Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> <br />All required records were located at the Bowie No. 2 Mine offices. Please see the associated DRMS Availability <br />of Records. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br />4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br />Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br />Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> <br />The culvert beneath the access road to Ponds 1 and 2 and the culvert from ditch 7 to Pond 2 were clear of sediment <br />and damp at the time of the inspection. The rock lined channel on the west side of the reclaimed refuse disposa l <br />area was stable with no evidence of recent run-off in the channel. All ditches and culverts at the East Mine <br />designed to convey run-off from the reclaimed slopes to the ponds were stable with no problems noted. <br /> <br />Ponds 1 and 2 and Ponds W-1, W-2, the Timber Storage Pond, and the West Ridge Pond; along with the Bowie <br />No. 1 Loadout ponds, were stable with no problems noted. All ponds were damp due to recent rains with no <br />evidence of recent discharge noted. The gate at the Pond 1 was open. <br /> <br />The clean water ditch on the north side of the Loadout area was re-established in June 2016 due to excessive <br />vegetation growth. No problems were noted with the ditch at the time of the inspection. Basil Bear of BRL noted <br />that re-vegetation would be conducted in the fall. <br /> <br />
