Exhibit I—Soils Information
52. Please provide the complete NRCS report for each unit contained within the permit
boundary.
Please see the attached NRCS Soil Survey that covers the entire property.
Exhibit J—Vegetation Information
53. Information included was qualitative and not specific enough. Please describe the present
vegetation types, which includes quantitative estimates of cover and height for the principal
species in each life-form represented(i.e.,trees,tall shrubs, low shrubs, grasses, forbs). If
vegetation varies throughout the site please characterize areas individually and include a map
delineating areas.
Vegetation on site consists of common western slope rangeland shrubs, patches of grass, and
small forbs. Cover is 30-50%,with most vegetation being no more than two feet in height.
Taller shrubs can be found in the road drainage ditches and near the Colorado River, but
these areas will not be affected by mining.
54. Describe the relationship of present vegetation types to soil types, or alternatively, the
information may be presented on a map.
Soil type is the same over the course of the mining area,as seen on Map C-1.
55. Show the relation of the types of vegetation to existing topography on a map in Exhibit C.Only
woodlands and wetlands are currently delineated. In providing such information, the
Operator/Applicant may want to contact the local Soil Conservation District.
All maps have been revised to show the vegetation accurately as Rangeland.
