Type of instrument, sensitivity, and the calibration signal of the gain setting or
certification of annual calibration;
b. Exact location of instrument and the date, time and distance from the blast;
c. Name of the person and firm taking the reading;
d. Name of the person and firm analyzing the seismographic record;
e. The vibration and/or airblast level record.
Reclamation Plan
10. The Technical Revision application does not propose any changes to the Reclamation Plan as
it pertains to the level area below the highwall where processing activities previously
occurred. This portion of the mine site was heavily impacted by flooding in 2013 and
currently is covered with sediment and cobble. The current Reclamation Plan calls for
reclaiming this area to rangeland. The area was previously affected by mining operations and
must be reclaimed. Please describe how the Operator intends to reclaim this portion of the
quarry. Also, see additional comments under Item No. 1.
11. The Reclamation Plan calls for constructing stormwater diversion ditches. Please
affirmitively state that the Operator has acquired a discharge permit from the Water Quality
Control Division of the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
12. The Reclamation Plan calls for watering the planted grass species. As required by Rule
6.4.7(3),please indicate the projected amount of water for the project and identify the source
of the water.
13. The Applicant is proposing to import 31,460 cubic yards of soil growth medium, which will
cover 39 acres with six inches of topsoil. The current Reclamation Plan calls for replacing
twelve inches of topsoil over the affected area. Please provide a technical justification for
reducing the depth of topsoil/plant growth medium from twelve to six inches.
14. The Technical Revision states the reclaimed areas will be covered with a layer of growth
medium(i.e. onsite topsoil,biosolids, or compost). The Reclamation Cost Estimate includes
a cost for importing 31,460 cubic yards of soil growth medium. Please clarify if there is any
available onsite soils which will be used during reclamation and specify the volume as cubic
yards. In addition, please specify if the material to be imported will be topsoil, biosolids or
compost and identify the source of this material.
15. The Reclamation Plan states a soil analysis will be made to more exactly determine fertilizer
needs. Please commit to conducting a soil analysis prior to seeding the site and commit to
providing the results of the soil analysis to the Division for review.
