No mine personnel accompanied the <br /> inspection. The Seneca II West Mine is a reclaimed surface mine. Remaining structures,roads,mine warehouse <br /> facilities,ponds and ditches are approved to remain as permanent features in support of the post-mining land use. <br /> The weather was clear and dry with some clouds moving in to the are in the afternoon. <br /> Two wildfires could be seen in the distance in the afternoon(about 3pm) . One was south west of the permit quite <br /> a distance away. The other appeared to be northwest of the town of Hyden. Though neither of these fires were <br /> anywhere near the Seneca II West permit, it was indicitive of the dry conditions in the area. <br /> FISH and WILDLIFE El Rule 4.18: <br /> Eight elk were observed browsing in the PM2-A drainage near stock tank T-27. There appeared to be 3 <br /> cow elk and 5 young elk. Four elk were observed swimming in Stocktank T-26. <br /> Ducks were swimming and feeding in Stock tank T-EEI)REUMIDWIEIEEOR24ERW D ❑WHFL] <br /> observed swimming in pond 016. There may be more surviving fish but they blend in with the pond plants and <br /> were hard to see. The fish were swimming in the current where PM-2 flows into the pond. <br /> HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 <br /> Drainage Control 4.05.1,4.05.2,4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5,4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br /> Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9: <br /> Ponds and stock tanks were observed: <br /> Pond 15 has a new surface owner along the access path. The operator has been in contact with the new owner and <br /> gate combinations have been provided to the operator for access to the pond and water monitoring.
