this figure or any other figure. Please show either on this figure(differentiating from
compliance sites) or on another figure all non-compliance monitoring sites discussed
in the text.
RESPONSE: Other monitoring sites for surface and groundwater points are included on
a revised Figures 2-1, 2-la and 2-lb, which are provided in Attachment 2.
• The green text used in this figure to label ground water monitoring sites is very difficult
to read and distinguish from the background image. When you revise this figure,
please change the color of this text to something more readable.
RESPONSE. Comment noted. The label text has been modified to be more readable
when printed(See Attachment 2 for revised Figures 2-1, 2-1 a, and 2-lb.
VOLUME I OF IV
EXHIBIT G—WATER INFORMATION
Figure G-1 Groundwater Wells Within 2 Miles of AM-11 Permit Boundary
• This figure shows 6-7 groundwater wells located inside the permit boundary labeled as
"Other Owner's". Who are the owners of these wells? Have you obtained structure
agreements for these wells?Additionally, have structure agreements been obtained
for all wells located within 200 feet of the AM-11 proposed affected area?
RESPONSE. CC&V is currently investigating the private wells that are shown within
the permit area and within 200 feet of the boundary. There are 139 wells listed within
the A-11 boundary and 200 foot buffer, 5 of which are listed as private according to the
State Engineers records. The remaining 134 wells belong to CC&V. It appears the 5
private wells are located on parcels owned by CC&V or on lands where CC&V controls
the surface andlor severed mineral rights. CC&V believes the well records in the State
Engineers Office may not have been updated to reflect change in ownership of these
lands. Figure G-1 has been revised to reflect this change and is included in Attachment
4.
Of the 139 total wells, there are 8 wells within the 200 foot buffer zone, 7 of which are
owned by CC&V and are used as monitoring wells. The one private well located within
the buffer area is located on a parcel of land for which CC&V controls the surface
rights and severed mineral rights. It appears the State Engineers records may not have
been updated to reflect current well status.
The wells in question appear to be located on CC&Vproperty and therefore there is no
need for structure agreements. CC&V will work with the State Engineer's office to
ensure well records are current and reflect actual ownership status.
• Are all of the wells shown on the figure and labeled as"CC&V"wells still active? If
not, please differentiate active versus abandoned wells on this figure. Are all of the
CC&V wells used for monitoring? If so,which ones are compliance wells? Please
indicate either on this figure or another figure submitted with this application, which
wells are currently utilized as monitoring wells, differentiating compliance wells.
RESPONSE. Of the 139 wells within the Amendment 11 boundary and 200 foot buffer, 60
Page 24 of 28
