EXHIBIT R
Reclamation Pian
The affected land shall be reclaimec: to its original land use
of wildlife habitat. Due to the severity of slope of the terrain
and the hard rock outcropping„ it would not be applicable to
other productive uses.
General reclamation plrns are to backfill the quarried areas with
the overburden, level and grade the overburden to a slope of
2 to 1 or less and revebetace with a Mi%Lure of: Western Wheat-
arass 5,91/acre, Mountain Mahogany 5.0«/acre, Sage 2.5#/acre,
bit Brush 5.5;/acre. The seed will be:iand-broadcasted at
16w/acres in the spring. The method of backfilling the quarried
ar4a with overburden was chosen as the besz. zicans of achieving
reclamation of the affected land for two main reasons.
1. The overburden will consist of sufficient quantity of fine
in.tterial which will allow root growth of grasses and shrubs.
Thu quarried area would otherwise be barren rock with no or
little chance for revedetation.
2, The overburden must be removed to obtain the marketable
limestone and, therefore, must be disposed of. If not re-
placed in the excavated areas, it would require the additional
disturbances of many acres. The proposed post mining land
uses will be very compatible with similar terrain in the
vicinity. The steep slopes would not have any productive use
other than wildlife habitat. This will also match land use
pians and programs which designate the area as Federal Land.
Implementation of this reclamation plan will rehabilitate the
land closely to the existing conditions of natural vegetation which
consist of: Mountain Mahogany, Sage and Rabbit Brush.
'.-.later, soil and air will not be altered by the mining activity.
There is no water present in the proposed mining area. The air
quality will not be damaged or permanently altered and the soil
will consist vainly of rock outcropping and fragmented when re-
habilitated.
