Transit Mix Concrete Co. <br />on rocky outcrops and upper hill slopes. Ponderosa pine occurs scattered in this community and <br />shrub species typical of mountain shrubland are common, including Gambel oak, mountain <br />mahogany, and three -leaf sumac. Louisiana sagewort and fringed sage are principal forbs in most <br />stands, with associated buckwheat (Eriogonum sp.), broom snakeweed (Gutierrezia sarothrae), <br />and prickly pear (Opuntia polyacantha). Principal grasses include blue gramma, mountain muhly <br />(Muhlenbergia montana), bristly wolfstail (Muhlenbergia alopecurioides), and three -awn (Aristida <br />purpurea), with associated side -oats gramma (Bouteloua curtipendula). Average cover and height <br />estimates for the principal plant species in this community are provided in Table 3. <br />Table 3.
