Cell: 719-201-1282
Please note new email address: riazuk clDfmi.com
--------- Forwarded message
From: "Lazuk, Raymond' <rlazuk@fmi.com>
To: "Scott - DNR, Eric" <edc.scott@state.co.us>
Cc: "Hilshorst, Aaron" <ahilshor@fmi.com>
Date: Mon, 18 Apr 2016 14:47:37 +0000
Subject: Reagent testing at Climax Mill -Cytec Reagent S-11194
Hi Eric,
Climax Metallurgy would like to test another frother reagent following the test on Polyfroth H28C that you approved last
week. The next test reagent is Cytec Reagent S-11194 (SDS attached). The testing will be identical to the Polyfroth
H28C. Climax expects to use -110-150 cc/min in the cyclone overflow and --10-50 cc/min in the TK-053 (4 rougher
flotation cell), a maximum of 200 cc./min total which will be around 0.02 lbs. reagent/ton ore. In both cases a LMI pump
will be used to add the frother to the circuit. Climax will bring in one tote (- 275 gal)for the test. The test is anticipated
to start in late April -early May and last for about 9 to 10 days. In case we see any issues with our process from the
test reagent we will discontinue the test and dispose of the remaining chemical in accordance with waste regulations.
The tote will placed on the cyclone deck on the grinding side of the mill where we have concrete floors and a sump to
provide both secondary and tertiary containment in case of spills. We will update the EPP if we decide to make this a
permanent change.
Please let me know if you have any concerns with this test.
Thanks,
Raymond Lazuk
Environmental Manager
Climax Molybdenum Company
Climax Mine
HWY 91 - Fremont Pass
Climax, CO 80429
Office: 719486-7584
Cell: 719-201-1282
raymond_lazuk@fmi.com
3 attachments
