Mr. Jack Henris
July 13, 2016
Page 4
m:\min\tc1\_teller\m-1980-244 cc-v\am-11\m-80-244-am-11maincommentr12016-07-13.docx
(1 inch = 200 ft). Please provide a corrected drawing.
b. Sectional views show purple and orange lines that are near vertical shafts. Please
show on the plan views where these shafts daylight.
6.4.13 EXHIBIT M – Other Permits and Licenses
10. Page M-1. This table lists a Mine Reclamation Permit for the Providence Mine (M-2102-
052). It is the Division’s understanding that the Providence Mine is not being incorporated
into the Cresson Project permit (M-1980-244) with this amendment, nor does the proposed
permit boundary include the Providence Mine. Please remove all permits not associated
with the Cresson Project and areas proposed to be annexed by AM-11/AM-11.1.
6.4.15 EXHIBIT O – Owner(s) of Record of Affected Land (Surface Area) and
Owners of Substance to be Mined
11. In regards to Comment 3b above, inclusion of the “Teller County Account No.” on Drawing
C-1 would allow the Division to assess whether or not all owners of record of the affected
land have been identified. Please revise Drawing C-1.
6.4.20 EXHIBIT T – Permanent Man-Made Structures
12. The second paragraph states “Owners of land within 200 feet of the affected land are shown
on Drawings C-1”. As Comment 3b indicates, this is not the case. Individual owners are
not identified on Drawing C-1. Please provide a drawing/map that identifies the “Adjacent
Land Owner within 200 Ft of the A-11 Boundary” that can be cross-referenced with the 10-
page list in Exhibit T.
13. The first paragraph cites history since 1981. This has all been for surface mining. AM -11
proposes underground mining in the area of Chicago Tunnel/Poverty Gulch which is near
the Mollie Kathleen tourist mine. The Division received a complaint from the Mollie
Kathleen operators citing blasting from another nearby underground operation causing
safety issues. Please revise your narrative to address how CC&V will prevent impacts to
the Mollie Kathleen and other nearby underground operations from your proposed
underground operations.
6.4.21 EXHIBIT U – Designated Mining Operation Environmental Protection Plan
Project Description
14. Page 4-5, 3rd bullet. This third conclusion states impact to flow and saturation in wetlands
and other areas of Grassy Valley are currently under evaluation. If this evaluation is
