Both buildings are still in place at the time of this photo. The Lower
Pump Station pad was used as a staging area for the well skids from each reclaimed well pad until they were
transported to the Parachute location and all of the instrumentation was removed and recycled.
All of the ground water monitoring wells in the vicinity of the Test Mine and Lower Pump
Station Pad have been plugged and abandonment work is in progress. Well 20-8 used to
supply water to the Test Mine and during construction of the Commercial Phase building and
later as a Uinta monitoring well was plugged in May 2016. Ground water wells 20-9 (B Groove
down gradient of 20-6), and 20-5 (Uinta) both opposite the Test Mine Pad in Yankee Gulch
have been plugged and abandoned. Roads leading to them will be reclaimed in fall 2016.
Solvay Chemicals, Inc.. 22
DRMS Annual Report
July 8, 2016
