Angela Bellantoni
From: Fortman, Elizabeth - NRCS, Pueblo, CO <elizabeth.fortman@7a co.usda.gov>
Sent: Thursday, June 02, 2016 8:08 AM
To: angela@envalternatives.com
Subject: 44th lane project
Angela, %
I sent the email below and when Rick Romano asked me yesterday if I had followed up I thought I'd better look
through my emails.
1 apparently sent to a wrong email address and didn't know it came back to me! Anyway here it is:
Angela,
Rick Romano passed on to me information about the reclamation plan. 1 spoke with Rich Rhoades and he said
the 40 seeds / sq foot is what our specs call for. Understand that is just recommended. If more seeds are desired
then the seed mix could be doubled. An issue one could have with increasing the amount is that the seeds
would compete with each other and end up with a loss due to this competition. As for adding forbs and shrubs -
that also could be done but the reason Rich didn't include any was that the only weed control option would be
mowing, spraying weeds with chemicals would kill the forbs and shrubs. He has found that they tend to fill in on
their own
PO Box 389, 10 Hermit Lane
Westcliffe, CO 81252
719-783-2481 xt. 101 or
719-543-8386 xt.110
This electronic message contains information generated by the USDA solely for the intended recipients.
Any unauthorized interception of this message or the use or disclosure of the information it contains
may violate the law and subject the violator to civil or criminal penalties.
