June 22, 2016 C-1981-038/Bowie No. 1 Mine JDM <br />Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />The culvert beneath the access road to Ponds 1 and 2 and the culvert from ditch 7 to Pond 2 were clear of sediment <br />and dry at the time of the inspection. The rock lined channel on the west side of the reclaimed refuse disposal area <br />was stable with no evidence of recent run-off in the channel. All ditches and culverts at the East Mine designed to <br />convey run-off from the reclaimed slopes to the ponds were stable with no problems noted. <br />Ponds 1, 2, 3, and 4 and Ponds W-1, W-2, the Timber Storage Pond, and the West Ridge Pond; along with the <br />Bowie No. 1 Loadout ponds, were stable with no problems noted. All ponds were dry with no evidence of recent <br />discharge noted. Gates at the Ponds 1, 2, and 3 primary spillways were open. <br />The clean water ditch on the north side of the Loadout area has been re-established due to excessive vegetation <br />growth. No problems were noted with the ditch at the time of the inspection.
