Table 2 shows a breakdown of this worst case scenario. The costs quoted are based on GLA
experience and DRMS values from recent evaluations of this site.
Table 2 — Worst Case Reclamation Scenario Costs
Reclamation Task
Comments
Reclamation Cost
Scales, scale house, & fuel farm
' $1,783
Structure demolition
Dewatering of Ponds 1B and 2 (880
Cost of roughly $60/ac-ft
$52,800 J
Backfilling of 1000' of hihwall,
Acce tinx DRMS calculation
$16,475
Topsoiling (6" deep) of 1000' of
Cost of roughly $0.59/CY
$655 T w
highw_all along its top 60' (1111 CY)
Topsoiling (6" deep) of production
_
Cost of roughly $0.59/CY
r $9,851
area 16 698 CY}
yl
Seeding and mulching all areas
Cost of $2000/acre
$44,000
needing reyegetatlon (22 acres)
Mobilization of crew and
1
$10,723 - --
equipment-
Subtotal
r
Before indirect costs
j $136,287
DRMS Indirect Cost 2596
--
- ---
Total
-
--- ...
-
$175,810
All mining activity, regardless of phase, is limited to 1000 feet of unbackfilled highwall. Therefore,
the maximum possible backfilling needed is that required to take a vertical slope to 311:1 V for a
height of 25 feet, and along a distance of 1000 feet. The topsoiling requirements of the site in the
worst case reclamation area a combination of the topsoil needed along the 1000 backfilled feet, and
the topsoil needed on the production area located in Phase 3A.
The bond for the operation should be $175,$10.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Sincerely,
Ben Langenfe(d, P.E.
Greg Lewicki and Associates
