MINED LAND RECLAMATION BOARD 110(2) ANNUAL REPORT
For Season 2015
GLACIER PEAK MINING
PERMIT NO. M-2003-030
Prepared: 22 March 2016
Submitted: 5 June 2016
Summary:
Glacier Peak Mining LLC operated mechanized equipment on the Smoky Hawk and Elk Horn
mining claims between 4 June and 31 July and for three additional days in September in Teller
County, Colorado, in conjunction with operations on the Blue Streak No. 1 (Sky Hawk), Hilltop,
American Dream, Laramie Cowboy, and Klondike claims. Mining and prospecting was conducted
to locate and produce amazonite, smoky quartz, fluorite, goethite, and other crystallized mineral
specimens. We operated equipment 25 days on Glacier Peak claims. The other days, the equipment
was idle due to mechanical failure, Sunday, or operations were on other mining claims. Equipment
included a John Deere 992 and a 350 track hoe. We drilled and blasted, using an air track drill for
four days of drilling. Additionally, a water container was brought on site as well as maintenance
equipment. Continued active claim jumping and unauthorized digging is occurring.
Map Depicting Operations:
Attached is a map showing the five claims covered under this permit. The fifteen proposed and
active excavation sites covered by this permit are shown by the letters A through Q and are
indicated with rectangular boxes. An orange area within a rectangular box indicates an open
excavation where work will resume this season(2016). Presently, there are two open excavations,
Site C and Site D, on the Smoky Hawk. A blue shaded box indicates a reclaimed area of one year or
with less than 80 percent growth. A green shaded box shows areas that have been mined, reclaimed,
and have 80 percent or better growth.
Current Disturbances (2015):
During 2015, Site D was opened an additional 0.135 acre for a total disturbance of 0.20 acre. Site C
was not expanded but was drilled and blasted to go deeper. Total new disturbance for 2015 was
0.135 acre. Total disturbance not reclaimed and not counting roads is 1.185 acres.
Reclamation Accomplished to Date (Including 2015 Reclamation):
A total of 2.91 acres has been reclaimed since this operation began in 2003. No additional sites were
reclaimed during 2015 since mining was limited to Sites C and D.
