Ms.loana Comaniciu
RE:SerFer Pit 90-Day Leak Test
February 3,2015
respectively. The on-site rain gage data will be used in calculating precipitation during this time;
the weather stations will allow verification of the ram gage data.
The allowable seepage will be determined using the following procedure: The total wall area will
be multiplied by the allowable wall seepage ((0.03 ft3/day/ft2) /43560 ft3/acre) multiplied by the
number of days of the test (90). This number is added to the result of the reservoir floor surface
area multiplied by the number of days of the test (90) multiplied by the allowable floor seepage
((0.0015 ft3/day/ft2)/43560 ft3/acre). The performance standard is three times the design standard.
The allowable seepage for the design and performance standard will be calculated and compared
to the seepage calculated through the mass balance equation.
Please review this information and inform us of any questions you may have. If this timeframe is
acceptable, we would like to setup a site meeting with you to commence the 90-day test.
Cordially,
Applegate Group, Inc.
C. 70cr:-. \e143E122`c—
Carrie Herbolsheimer, P.E. •
Water Resource Engineer
CRH/ta
cc: AG File No. 14-151
Attachment: Vicinity map
N\14151 SerFer Pit ReclamatonlDisciplines(Technical)' RP,90-day leak test\90 day letter SerFer.docx
