Twentymile Coal, LLC.
Page 2
May 31, 2016
being used as temporary storage for pond cleanings and should only be a temporary storage area
for these fines. Please revise this page to indicate where these coal fines will be taken for final
reclamation.
a. TC's response: The referenced text discussion has been review and revised to clarify the
placement of the coal fines at the 15 -Left location is temporary, and that these materials
will subsequently be moved to another location for permanent placement. Copies of the
revised PAP text page(s) accompany these responses.
b. Division's response: Proposed revised page 2.05-50.3 has been revised to indicate that
the coally material cleaned up will only be temporarily placed in the nearby bermed basin
on the 15 -Left Shaft Pad. However, permanent placement was not discussed on the
revised page. Please update this page to indicate that this material will be removed from
the 15 -Left Shaft Pad and permanently placed in the approved coal mine waste bank
(refuse disposal area) in accordance with Rule 4.10.1.
5.) Proposed revised page 2.05-101 does not follow with the preceding and following text. The
Surface Facilities section is currently on page 2.05-100, there is already a discussion of the
reclamation of the Fish Creek Dewatering facilities on page 2.05-106.2 of the permit and the
Rockdust Tank section is currently located on page 106.2. It would seem any revision to the
reclamation of the Fish Creek Borehole site should be made to the section on page 2.05-106.2 of
the permit.
a. Item resolved.
The decision date for MR297 is June 9, 2016. If you need additional time to address the Division's
concerns, please request an extension of the decision date. If additional time is needed to approve this
minor revision for the clean-up operation, Twentymile Coal may want to consider requesting an extension
of time to complete the remaining abatement tasks (#2 and 3) of CV -2016-001 which are required to be
completed by June 15, 2016.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me at (303) 866-3567, extension 8120.
Sincerely,
Jared Ebert
Environmental Protection Specialist
