Information on the sediment control system is presented in sections Appendix K, K-3 and K-5 of the permit <br />This section of the rules is adequately addressed in the permit. <br />Rule: 4.05.6 Sediment Ponds <br />This is a review of rules 4.05.6(1-7) associated with sediment pond design, construction and maintenance. <br />Sediment Pond designs are found in appendices K and K-3 of the permit. Permanent Sedimentation Pond 2 is in <br />compliance with Rule 4.05.6. <br />This section of the permit is adequately addressed. <br />Rule: 4.05.7 Discharge Structures <br />This is a review of rules 4.05.7 associated with discharge from sediment control structures and other treatment <br />facilities. <br />There is no point of surface water discharge. <br />This section of the rules is adequately addressed in the permit. <br />Rule: 4.05.9 Impoundments (1-17) <br />This is a review of rules 4.05.9(1-17) associated with design, construction and maintenance of impoundments. <br />Sediment ponds are meant for temporary impoundment of water before discharge in order to meet State and <br />Federal effluent standards. As per RN6, both the dugout pond and Permanent Sediment Pond 2 have been <br />approved as permanent in accordance with Rule 4.05.9(13). The sanitary sewage treatment lagoon is an integral <br />part of the sanitary sewage treatment system. The treatment lagoon is to be removed under final reclamation. <br />This section of the rules is adequately addressed in the permit. <br />Rule: 4.05.17 Postmining and Rehabilitation of Sediment Ponds and Diversions <br />This is a review of the above rule associated with renovation of all permanent sedimentation structures. <br />The proposed permanent drainage facilities for final site reclamation are indicated in Appendix Q-1 of the Permit. <br />This section of the rules is adequately addressed in the permit with the exception of: <br />♦ DRMS found no indication of renovation methods for permanent ponds and other treatment <br />facilities as pre Rule 4.05.17. <br />6.
