Fish Creek Soil Investigation

APPENDIX3
CLAYBURN SERIES
The Clayburn series consists of very deep, well drained soils that formed in glacial drift,
colluvium, or alluvium derived mainly from shale, sandstone, and andesite, with some basalt.
Clayburn soils are on plateaus, hills, and mountain slopes. Slopes range from 2 to 65 percent.
Mean annual precipitation is about 30 inches and the mean annual temperature is about 40
degrees F.
TAXONOMIC CLASS: Fine-loamy, mixed, superactive Pachic Argicryolls
TYPICAL PEDON: Clayburu loam in rangeland.
