SPECIFICATION NUMBER: <br /> Climax Molybdenum CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION 03 30 00 SPE <br /> AFreepal•McMoRan Company TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION PROJECT NAME: <br /> CAVR Shaft Closure Project <br /> g. Records of outside temperatures, weather conditions and concrete <br /> or form temperatures shall be maintained for the placements. <br /> Temperatures should be recorded at several locations within <br /> enclosures, on the concrete or formed surfaces, and at corners and <br /> edges of forms or concrete to indicate the range of temperatures. <br /> Concrete delivery temperature data shall be submitted to the <br /> Engineer on each batch ticket. <br /> S. Normal and Hot Weather Requirements <br /> 1. When the requirements for cold weather concreting are not applicable, <br /> normal and hot weather concreting shall be subject to the following: <br /> 2. Concrete temperatures as delivered shall be within the limits below. <br /> 1 , <br /> Minimum Placement Dimension <br /> I Less Than 48" 48"or Larger <br /> Maximum Concrete Temp. 80OF 70OF <br /> Minimum Concrete Temp. 60OF 50OF <br /> 3. When air temperatures are expected to exceed 90°F during placing, <br /> finishing and the first 24 hours after finishing, or when the rate of <br /> evaporation as determined by Figure 2.1.5 of ACI 305 is expected to exceed <br /> 0.2 lbs/ftz/hr. during placing and finishing,precautionary measures shall be <br /> put into effect by the Contractor to prevent damage to concrete due to hot <br /> weather. Every effort shall be made to minimize the time of delivery, <br /> placing, consolidation and finishing. When the air temperature is expected <br /> to exceed 90°F within 48 hours after placement, all surfaces shall be <br /> protected from direct sunlight for a minimum of 48 hours. If it is necessary <br /> r to place concrete during hot weather conditions, placement and protection <br /> methods shall be in accordance with this Section and ACI 305. <br /> T. Attachment of Rods or Dowels to Hardened Concrete <br /> 1. Holes drilled in hardened concrete for epoxy adhesive of anchor rods, <br /> reinforcing bars and dowels shall be drilled with a rotary impact drill to a <br /> diameter as specified by the epoxy adhesive Manufacturer, unless hole size <br /> is specifically indicated in the Design Drawings. The hole shall be cleaned <br /> with water to remove concrete dust and then dried or blown clean with oil- <br /> free pressurized air. Do not use compressed air to dry the hole unless it is <br /> oil free.
