Runoff channel and gully along east side of Ewing Mesa Road, (photos 5 and 5A) <br />should be stabilized to prevent further headcutting and downcutting as per Rule 4.03.2. <br />7. Please monitor and treat thistle growth shoul d they be classified as noxious, as <br />well as stands of mull ein (Verbascum Thapsus), a class āCā noxious weed, as <br />per Rule 4.15. <br /> <br />NEW MAINTENANCE ITEMS <br />May 2016 <br /> <br />8. Gullies along slope below graded turn around at end of Ewing Mesa Road should be <br />stabilized as per Rule 4.03.2, photos 1A and 1B. <br />9. Debris from the slope above the North Road on north side of Carbon Junction Diversion is <br />being transported during wet weather and deposited in the flat area where the North Road <br />meets the Ewing Mesa Road, photo 10. Debris source should be identified and stabilized as <br />per Rule 4.03.2. <br /> <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS Rule 4.02 <br /> <br />o Topsoil stockpiles observed were marked with identifying signs. <br />o Mine identification signs at gate were installed as required and displayed correct <br />information. <br />o Permit boundary signs observed appeared to be adequate, and in good repair <br />with the exception of the following issue from the previous inspection: <br />1. Fallen marker identified as maintenance item #1. <br /> <br />ROADS- Rule 4.03 <br />Construction 4.03.1(3) I 4.03.2(3); Drainage 4.03.1(4) I 4.03.2(4); Surfacing and <br />Maintenance 4.03.1(5) and (6) I 4.03.2(5) and (6); Reclamation 4.03.1(7) I 4.03.2(7): <br /> <br />o All roads in and around the site were stable with no signs of erosion observed <br />with the exception of the following issues from the previous inspection : <br />1. Transmitted debris along the Ewing Mesa Road, see maintenance item #4, <br />photo 3. <br />2. Channel on the east side of the Southeast Pasture Road, near the western <br />corner of stockpile #4 (Photo 4), should be monitored for downcutting and <br />evidence of a delta forming. The source area of the debris identified, see <br />maintenance item # 5, photo 4. <br />3. Runoff channel and gully along east side of Ewing Mesa Road near twin <br />culverts, see maintenance item #6, photo 5 and 5A. <br /> <br />The items above were discussed during the May inspection and DRMS understands <br />that the operator has not yet had an opportunity to mi tigate these issues and that <br />necessary measures will be taken to stabilize areas of erosion as per Rule 4.03. <br /> <br />4. Gullies are forming on slope below the graded turn around at end of Ewing
