Newmont Mining Corporation ■ <br /> Cripple Creek&Victor Gold Mine ■ <br /> Squaw Gulch VLF CCW <br /> NewFields Job No.475.0106.006 <br /> Week Ending Saturday,May 07,2016 <br /> 1.0 EARTHWORKS <br /> 1.1 Underground Working Remediation <br /> • NewFields personnel observed confirmatory drilling activities and noted any voids that <br /> were encountered. Confirmatory drilling was performed at the following underground <br /> workings: <br /> o UG#6477 (further remediation required) <br /> o Anaconda Mine Complex (further remediation required) <br /> • The second and third layers of geogrid were placed on UG#6679/UG#6471. As built <br /> survey was completed prior to the placement of six inches of select structural fill over <br /> the each geogrid layer. Compaction of the select structural fill was achieved using a <br /> smooth drum roller.The working is considered remediated. <br /> • Three layers of geogrid were placed on the fifth step of the lower Anaconda Mine <br /> Complex. As built survey was completed prior to the placement of six inches of select <br /> structural fill over the each geogrid layer. Compaction of the select structural fill was <br /> achieved using a smooth drum roller. The third layer of select structural fill still needs to <br /> be placed and compacted. Further remediation is required. <br /> 1.2 Structural Fill <br /> Structural Fill placement continued within the Squaw Gulch VLF Phase I and Phase II footprint. <br /> NewFields personnel inspected fill material and observed placement and compaction <br /> procedures to ensure that they were in accordance with the project technical specifications. <br /> Ambient temperatures remained above 32 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the shift. The <br /> following structural fill construction activities occurred during the shift: <br /> • Slope rough grading (cut to fill) in areas bounded by bench stations: <br /> o K15+00 to K16+00 and M12+00 to M14+00 (over remediated UG#6679/6471) <br /> o M30+00 to M34+00 and S35+00 to S40+00 <br /> • Excess cut material from below stations M28+00 to M47+00 was stockpiled and will be <br /> hauled at a later date. <br /> ✓ Fill placement (hauled from low volume reject stockpile) in areas bounded by bench <br /> stations: <br /> o J0+00 to J8+00 and VLF Haul Road <br /> • Compaction of Structural Fill was achieved using a smooth drum roller. <br /> Page 2 <br />
