Since critical tt = 0.851 (one -tailed, alpha = 0.2, 40-1 df) and ",, (0.951) is greater than this critical value,
reclamation success for "Volunteer" woody plant density for Phase III in 2015 is demonstrated on 100% of
the unfenced BRB-3.
Fenced Aspen "Concentration"Area Density
Sample adequacy based on woody plant density was not achieved in the Fenced Aspen "Concentration"
areas of the Phase III BRB-3. Since the mean density exceeded the standard and adequacy was not
achieved, use of a reverse -null t-test of the assertion that the 2015 BRB-3 Fenced Aspen "Concentration"
woody plant density exceeds 90% of the standard. The 2015 BRB-3 Fenced Aspen "Concentration"
woody plant density data were first evaluated for normality using the Shapiro-Francia test. Based on the
2015 Aspen "Concentration" density data the normality test was not passed. Consequently a square root
transformation was performed and the normality test was passed (Table 4, below). Hypothesis testing
calculations went forward using square root transformed data for both the BRB-3 Fenced Aspen
"Concentration" density data and the technical standard.
Table 4.
