Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13;
Drainage—Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6,4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18:
The length of North Tributary, East Pit Ditch to Pond NTEP 1 as well as the Final East Pit Ditch starting from
Pond EP1 up to EP2 was inspected. Both ditches were well armored with rip rap.Water was visibly flowing along
the Final East Pit Ditch.No erosion was observed along either ditch and water was visibly clear. Cutting prior to
Pond EP1 was noted at the inlet to the pond. This item was identified in earlier inspection reports and has been
added to the Colowyo Mine's maintenance list as discussed with Tony Tennyson, of Tri-State,in our close out
meeting. Due to seasonal snow melt, access to the area has not been attainable to address the item. The cutting
prior to the inlet has no impact on the competency of the EP1 Pond. Pond NTEP1 held water but was no discharge.
No issues regarding the pond were observed. Both Ponds EP1 and EP2 were discharging. Water was visually
inspected and was clear.
The ETD Pond 1 and southern portion of the East Taylor Ditch was inspected. The southern length of the ditch
was walked. Rip rap was found along the southern most section of the ditch due to the grade of the slope. Rip rap
was not placed along the lower portion of the ditch.No erosion was observed along the ditch. ETD Pond 1 was dry
at the time of the inspection.No issues were observed with the pond.
Section 28 pond was dry at the time of the inspection. The embankment of the pond was well vegetated and no
erosion was noted along the embankment face. The primary spillway is a riser pipe and the emergency spillway is
an armored trapezoidal cut along the embankment. The emergency discharge charnel is well armored and no
issues were observed.
The Prospect Pond held water at the time of the inspection but was not discharging. The Embankments are well
vegetated and stable with no erosion. Spillways were free of obstructions and no issues were observed.
The Gulch A pond held water with no discharge. Embankments were well vegetated with no issues observed.
The Streeter Pond was discharging at the time of the inspection. Measurement reading on the associated 12"flume
were 0.1 which correlates to 0.12 cubic feet per second of discharge. Discharge was clear.No issues were
observed with the Streeter Pond.
a
Inlet to Pond EP1. Discharge at Streeter Pond.
OTHER(SPECIFY):
