Topsoil is graded in lifts, with wheel compaction to prevent the creation of voids that can lead to
settlement or over compaction. Use of fertilizer or compost or other soil amendments shall only be
applied where soil tests indicate nutrient deficiencies for the plant species to be established.
B. Revise the seed mix to contain more seeds per square foot, with a seed mix of 80-120 seeds/S.F.,
or 15-25 PLS/Acre (pounds live seed per acre):
The revised seed mix is summarized as follows:
Seed Type Rate— PLS/Acre
Switchgrass 2.00
Sand Dropseed 0.40
Inland Saltgrass 4.00
Alkali Sacaton 0.60
Galleta 4.00
Western Wheatgrass 10.00
Buffalo Grass 4.95
Blue Grama 0.75
TOTAL Pounds Live Seed/ACRE: 26.70
C. If mulch is to be used specify the kind to be used, the crimping method and rate of application:
Mulch is not intended to be used, only mulch as required depending upon success of initial seeding with
cover crop methodology planned to provide protection for newly planted seeds.
D. Specify the species and application rates of the proposed cover crop:
The species of cover crop will be Sideoats Grama applied at the application rate of 18 PLS/acre(pounds
of live seed per acre). Planting into stubble of sideoats grama as a cover crop is a preferred method for
seeding large areas. The stubble will give protection for the new seeding and helps trap moisture. The
sideoats grama cover seeding can be planted mid-May thru June to give plants enough time to establish
before wintertime. As new planting establishes, weeds will need to be controlled. Mowing is best done to
reduce competition, prevent reseeding of weeds, but minimizes clipping the grasses. Generally, mowing
frequently with a mower that shreds the weeds helps prevent covering the new grass seedlings too deeply
with residue and maintaining good sunlight penetration for the cover crop and permanent grasses.
EXHIBIT F-Reclamation Plan Map Rule 6.4.6
5. Have the Reclamation Plan Map signed by a registered land surveyor
Exhibit F, Reclamation Plan Map is submitted herewith with the required signature of the registered land
surveyor who prepared the Reclamation Plan Map,per rule 6.4.6.
3
