Therefore, I would <br /> appreciate a response from you on or before February 27, 1998 to allow adequate time for <br /> review. Any comments that we receive on your application during the interim will be forwarded <br /> to you. <br /> 1. Page I of the 112 Operation application form lists 135 permitted acres while Exhibit C - Mine <br /> Plan Map shows a permit area of only 125.5 acres. The staging area(s), existing road to be <br /> improved, and new road to be built should be included in the permit area. As required by Rule <br /> 6.4.3(d), please revise Exhibit C to show the total area to be involved in the operation, including <br /> the area to be mined and the affected land. <br /> 2. Rule 6.4.4(d) requires the applicant to provide the size of area(s)to be worked at any one <br /> time. The applicant has listed that mining will be done in 3 phases and has provided acreages for <br /> each phase. In conformance with Rule 6.4.4(d), please provide the maximum surface area of <br /> terrace(s) to be created during each phase of mining. <br /> 3. The applicant states on page 15 of the application that "the terraces will be reclaimed after <br /> mining is complete by covering the flat portion of each terrace with topsoil from a borrow <br /> location yet to be determined." As required by Rule 6.4.5(2), please specify the anticipated <br /> minimum depth or range of depths for those areas where topsoil will be replaced. Also, please <br /> note that the"borrow area" will be considered by the Division to be affected land and should be <br /> included in your permit area. You may also be required to include in your reclamation plan <br /> provisions for reclamation of the borrow area. Please respond. <br /> 4. The Reclamation Plan Map - Exhibit F shows only phase I of the mining plan. As required by <br />
