6 (FORM 2 -Public filing)
8. Describe the estimated topsoil depth and how topsoil will be salvaged, stockpiled and redistributed for the re-establishment of
vegetation. Specify approximate topsoil redistribution depth:
Topsoil thickness is thin and variably developed in the areas of proposed disturbance.
Rocky, C horizon soils are generally encountered within 6-12" of the ground surface. In
areas with significant topsoil development, the topsoil will be stockpiled locally at the top of
the road or drill pad cutbank.
9. Describe how drill holes will be plugged(refer to Rule 5.4 of the Rules for required abandonment procedures):
When the drill hole is completed, it will be plugged using a sodium bentonite gel. A 10'
thick cement plug will cap the top of the drill hole which will be marked with the drill hole
number and date. Surface casing will be removed and if not completely removed will be
from bottom to top Surface drainage will be modified to keep water from ponding in the
vicinity of the drill collar. All drill collars will eventually be covered when the drill pads are
reclaimed.
10. Describe how portals, adits, shafts, ponds, excavations,or other disturbances will be reclaimed(refer to Rule 3 and Rule 5 for
specific reclamation performance standards). You may wish to contact the Division for closure specifications.
All drill pads will be re-contoured to match the existing topography. The surface will be left
rough and where available boulders and logs will be used to minimize erosion and
discourage access. The reclaimed areas will be re-seeded with approved seed mixtures
annually for plant re-generation and erosion concerns until the area is released by the
permitting agencies.
11. Describe how roads will be reclaimed or returned to their pre-prospecting(or better)condition:
to match the existing topography. The surface will be left rough, and coarse materials
(boulders/logs) where available will be used to block access and to help mitigate erosion
where applicable. The disturbance will be re-seeded with an approved seed mixture for
the area and monitored/t eviewed annually until tile reclamation is rel ased.
