5 (FORM 2 -Public filing)
G. Total project area to be disturbed 2.39 (acres)
K. Describe the equipment to be used for the prospecting operations:
Road building - Cat 225 sized excavator &/or Cat 5/6 sized cat.
Track or truck mounted core rig with associated pipe truck; water truck; 4x4 vehicles and
AN.
Small water pumps and hoseline to get water to the drill sites.
L. Describe and locate any structures to be constructed(i.e.stockpiles,ponds,impoundments):
No structures will be constructed on BLM lands.
M. Describe anticipated relationship to surface water and groundwater(proximity to streams, penetration of ground
water aquifers):
Drill holes will encounter near-surface groundwater and will possibly encounter
groundwater in fracture zones at depth. All of the drill sites are located in areas of high
relief and-artesian water now is not expected.
IV. OPERATION AND RECLAMATION MEASURES:
1. The Board suggests that a photographic record of the pre-prospecting and post-prospecting conditions be kept by the
prospector. These photos should be taken from the same location and by the same method to clearly show the pre-prospecting
condition of the land and the reclamation efforts. Upon completion of reclamation and request for bond or surety release, the
Board may consider the photos as evidence of adequate reclamation, and thus,be able to act more quickly on the request for
release.
2. Provide a description of the native vegetation of the area to be disturbed, including tree, shrub, and grass communities of the
area. Color photographs, sufficient to adequately represent the ecology of the site and adequately labeled (including date,
orientation and location),may be used in lieu of a written description. Based on the quality of the photographs, the Division
may require additional detail.
The area is located in an area of mixed pine and aspen forest with local meadows
containing various grasses and shrubs. Much of the evergreen forest is dead or dying
from the spruce beetle infestation with areas of intense kill located immediately to the east
of the project. Elevations range from 10,200'to 10,700'with mostly northerly slope
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
shruhs dominate with minor talus fields
