Rob Zuber
Page 2
April 20, 2016
Please revise this section of text to refer to the separation between the Trout Creek sandstone
and the lowest seam to be mined in the vicinity of the proposed Collom pit and use this value
consistently throughout the text of volume 15. Please also cite the data that allows CCC to
accurately assess the separation over this area. [Refer also item 80 in this letter]
The text on Rule 2, Page 13 was updated, and is consistent with surrounding text.
The response is sufficient.
69. The response is sufficient.
70. The response is sufficient.
Rule 2.04.7 — Hydrology Description
71. The response is sufficient.
72. The response is sufficient.
73. Two faults are described in Volume 15, Rule 2, Page 21, but are not shown on Map 7A (or Map
1013).
Please draw the faults on Maps 7A and 10B. Please also update the text of section 2.04.6 to
include a description of these faults.
CCC have retained discussion of faulting in Morgan Gulch on Page 15, and removed the text
discussing faults from Page 21, in the proposed revised text, rather than expanding other
sections to more fully describe these faults. Two references are cited in the text that CCC
proposes to remove: Reheis, 1981; and Dodd and Dodd Consulting, 2006. The first of these is
readily available to the public however the second is not. Please provide a copy of the
referenced report so that the Division may better evaluate the significance of faulting in the
Collom area. Please also show the faults in Morgan Gulch on Map 7A.
CCC removed discussion of faulting in Morgan Gulch from the text since it is not pertinent to
the mine plan as proposed with PR -4. Text was added to Volume 15, Rule 2, Page 15,
describing the evidence used by CCC to support the conclusion that faults are not expected in
the Collom area. CCC also removed reference to the Dodd and Dodd report from the text, and
updated Volume 1, Section 2.03.3(1-5) to remove the report from the list of references.
The response is sufficient.
74. Under the subheading "Groundwater Occurrence", in Volume 15, Rule 2, Page 21, the text refers
to bedrock and valley fill monitoring wells relevant to PR -4 presented in Table 2.04.7-38.
